While living in Chile, Maayke was taken by her partner Toto to Lake Maiwe in the Andes, surrounded by wild rose bushes. Rosehip oil has long been used in cosmetics to repair skin and soften scars. Struggling with acne at the time and fascinated by ecosystems, she couldn't shake the story — years later it became the foundation for her brand, Maiwe.
