When I first entered Eva’s store in Brussels, I felt like I entered a different world. A world from the past, fully lit with candles, a mesmerizing smell, filled with garments that spoke to me from another era yet felt so wearable and contemporary. I didn’t know Eva Velazquez before I arrived, yet when I started talking to this Catalan beauty –always in the company of her dog Georges – I immediately felt there was something special about her. The passion, dedication and conviction impressed and moved me.

Eva Velazquez sources antique garments from the worlds of rural and industrial labour, since 2014. Her fascination is rooted in practical and durable clothing traditions from all across Europe. Eva hunts, researches, repairs, and draws inspiration from the past. Every single garment in her store carries a story, one she will happily share with you.

Her collections feature as many authentic historical pieces as contemporary creations woven with history. For Eva, there is no need to create just for the sake of creating, or to add complicated details to attract fleeting attention. I feel a strong connection with her commitment to the timeless, the fascination for ancient rituals and remedies. As with Maiwe, rosehip is nothing “new” in skincare. It has been used for centuries to treat scars and heal the skin. All we did was profoundly research it, and bring its quality and technique to today’s insights.
